You're best off taking Amtrak from Union Station to Irvine. I'm not sure of the local connections from Amtrak to the event. As for the validation, we send out a team member with our entire team's tickets and have them drive around for a few minutes. It's kind of a fun distraction and if everyone shares the duties then no one would have to do this more than twice. That's driving in and out of the parking lot and re-validating. Totally worth it.
